This is the first post since the successful migration to Nestify, my new, amazingly fast web host. I have to say, WordPress is a completely different experience when you aren’t waiting 5-10 seconds for your site to load. I’m pretty happy with Nestify at the moment. Anyway, onto the article.

In this article, I’ll share my frustration with Cloudflare’s limitation on changing nameservers when you buy a cheap (they are very cheap) domain through them and explain why I’m making the switch back to Namecheap. It’s always been and probably always will be my preferred domain registrar.
It’s a familiar story for many who have bought a domain through Cloudflare – the frustration of being unable to change nameservers. It’s a known issue and has been on the Cloudflare ‘Help’ forums since at least 2021. I just wish I knew this sooner.
The process is supposed to be seamless, with the goal of pointing your domain to your desired hosting provider. However, this often proves to be more challenging than expected. Even attempting to manually add an A record to point the domain can end in failure, leaving you scratching your head and wondering where things went wrong.
